Tesero is situated in the middle of the valley. It has 2,785 inhabitants and is a good tourist resort thanks to its position between the Ski Centre of Lake Tesero (where the World Championship of Nordic Skiing of 1991 and of 2003 took place) and the big skiing area of Alpe di Pampeago, 1,757m above sea-level. The latter, together with the slopes and ski-lifts of Predazzo and Obereggen constitute the Latemar Ski Centre.
Tesero offers several alternatives for summer tourism, particularly regarding hiking. It is also well-known as a handcraft centre and for its small industries, as well as for its activities in exploiting local traditions.
