Ski Mountaineering in Val di Fiemme

The Val di Fiemme offers many possibilities for sport during your winter holiday but especially ski mountaineering has to be mentioned. Primary ski mountaineering was practised in Scandinavia where they used ski covered with sealskin for their ascents. Over the years, alpine skiing has evolved not only in techniques but also in materials. The sealskins has been changed into synthetic fibres which can easily be removed for the descents.
