Tesero in the Val di Fiemme

Tesero is a town in the Val di Fiemme at 1,000 meters above sea level. It's well known for its lake, and nearby is the Cross-Country Skiing Center, very famous in Trentino. This location is connected to the Latemar Pampered-Obereggen Ski Center, a ski resort that offers 35 kilometers of slopes and 20 ski lifts, as well as an artificial snow-making system.
Spending a summer holiday in Tesero offers many opportunities too: outdoor walking trails are in abundance. Moreover, in 2006 the Trentino Nordic Walking Park was opened with 60 kilometers of marked trails, ideal for keeping fit while immersed in nature.
Important craft traditions are still found in Tesero and local customs are also given great importance. A significant example is "Tesero e i suoi presepi", an exhibition that takes place in all the streets of the old center of the town where 100 handcrafted Christmas cribs are exhibited: you'll discover them one by one as you wander through the little streets, alleyways and courtyards.

Another interesting event is "La Corte de Tiezer", during which pageants re-enacting the past, theatrical plays and children's events, like horse riding by night, are held. For this event the inhabitants of Tesero dress in the typical traditional costumes of the town and valley and gastronomic specialties from bygone times are offered.
